Duties:

• Analyze, design, develop, test and modify computer software applications software or specialized programs.

• Review and analyze business system and user needs and develop software solutions.

• Become familiar with the business process and assess business activities performed globally to determine proposed solutions and potential impact.

• Plan and execute unit tests including technical, functional and integration tests.

• Prepare related technical documentation and provide user support as needed.

• Design, build, implement and maintain databases, scripts, views, functions, and procedures individually or as a part of a team to support application software.

• Assist in documenting system requirements, defining scope and objectives.

• Work with users to resolve production incidents in a timely manner.

• Track all coding changes using help desk and version control software.

Special Requirements: Position requires travel/relocation to various client locations throughout the U.S with expenses paid by the employer.

 

The employer is in the field of Information Technology implementing projects for clients in various states throughout the country.

Depending on the scope of the project, these implementations could sometimes take days, weeks, months, or years. Hence, the beneficiary may have to either travel or relocate to these client sites depending on the duration of the project. Therefore, the employer has indicated that the position requires travel/relocation to various unanticipated client locations throughout the US with expenses paid by the employer.

Position: Network Engineer

Location: 8106 Normandy Dr, Mount Laurel, NJ, 08054.

Duties:

• Implementation, and maintenance of security access requests (SAR) changes to DHS security enforcement firewall policies. These modifications provide and maintain the access availability to network services, file, print, and email servers, Internet and application services.

• Troubleshoot and monitor firewall traffics/issues through command-line using CLI commands, GUI interface and Smart Console (SmartView Tracker, Smart Log and SmartView Monitor).

• Configured, troubleshoot, and upgraded Checkpoint firewalls for client, which included network and/or resource access, software, or hardware problems.

• Maintained High Availability and clustered firewall environments for customers using Checkpoint High Availability.

• Perform level 3-4 security implementations, vulnerability assessments and intrusion detection.

• Build Checkpoint firewall, and configured GUI to open/close TCP/IP ports.

• Worked with both GAIA and SPLAT operating system.

• Installed, configured and maintained Checkpoint R80.10-R81.10 Gaia.

• Identified and removed security policies that are no longer needed to reduce Checkpoint firewall policy lookup.

• Configured necessary routing and NAT on the firewall appliance to communicate with the internet.

• Backup, restore and upgrade of Checkpoint firewall appliance.

• Monitored Checkpoint VPN tunnel activities with Smart View Monitor and troubleshoot VPN issues with CLI.

• Optimize existing policies to improve security and performance. Identify and remove security policies that are not no longer needed to reduce Checkpoint firewall policy lookup.

• Configure IPSec, SSL - VPN (Mobile Access) on Checkpoint Gaia and troubleshoot VPN tunnel connectivity issues.

• Analyze logs and make necessary network reports using Smart Reporter console application.

• Network monitoring, packet captures and troubleshooting traffic passing through firewall via logs.

• Respond to emergency outages, disaster recovery and the corporate firewall.
